About Me

Greetings to all, my name is Ricshawn Leon Williams, and I am from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am currently in my third year of college at Florida A&M University. My major is Criminal Justice, and my minor is Psychology. I maintain a 3.2 GPA and remain on the “B” Honor Roll. I can excel far beyond average in nearly any subject except Math, which isn’t my strongest subject. I am considered a first generation college student because my brother and I are the first ones in our family to attend a four year university. I am a member of Big Brother Little Brother Mentoring Program and FAMU’s Chapter of Collegiate 100, where I had the pleasure of serving as the organization’s first Vice President of Mentoring.

When I graduate from Florida A&M University, I will have a master’s degree in Criminal Justice. I will most likely return to Fort Lauderdale and enroll into the Police Academy. I’d like to work for either Broward County Sheriff’s Office or the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. I then plan on being a field cop for a few years before I am promoted to, or take the test to become a Homicide Detective. I also plan on starting programs for the African American youth in the communities that will ultimately keep them out of trouble.

My blog will consist of responses to current trends of Criminal Justice. You can also find my resume and personal statement on this site as well.
